Fat people deserve to feel pleasure, but we live in a world where we often receive messages that we don’t deserve to feel good in our bodies. Come and listen to your fellow fatties talk about what pleasure in a fat body means to them. Whether it’s through sex, moving your body, eating a yummy meal, or wearing that outfit that makes you feel unstoppable. Pleasure knows no size and fat bodies deserve to feel it in any way - without apology.

This is a storytelling event centering fat voices and the fat experience. With the theme “Pleasure in a Fat Body”, you will hear stories told by fat people about how they have experienced pleasure while being fat. In a world where fat people are constantly told to be smaller, both physically and emotionally, The Fat Narrative Project is here to push against that. This event is for fat people to take up all of the space, to be put on a platform, and to be celebrated. While this event is centered around fat people, especially the most marginalized of the fat community, Authentically Fat strongly encourages fat allies of all sizes to come and show support.

Note: This is a space to celebrate fatness and not condemn, medicalize, or fetishize fatness or fat people.

When sharing stories of the fat experience, there may be mention of:

• diet culture

• fatphobic rhetoric

• anti-fat bias

• calorie counts

• descriptions of specific disordered eating/exercise

• dieting behaviors

While the storytellers will not be uplifting these systems and behaviors, we urge you to care for yourself, however that looks.
